Discover the Knight-Hennessy scholar journey! Knight-Hennessy Scholars is a multidisciplinary, multicultural graduate scholarship program. Each Knight-Hennessy scholar receives up to three years of financial support to pursue graduate studies at Stanford while engaging in experiences that prepare scholars to be visionary, courageous, and collaborative leaders who address complex challenges facing the world.
All scholars are Stanford University graduate students, who join Knight-Hennessy Scholars in addition to enrolling in a graduate degree program at any of Stanford’s seven schools: business, education, engineering, humanities & sciences, law, medicine, and sustainability. Scholars receive a fellowship for up to three years of tuition, depending upon their degree length. In addition, scholars receive a stipend for living and academic expenses, and a travel stipend for one annual trip to and from Stanford.
Scholars participate in up to three years of programming that complements their graduate studies and prepares them to take on leadership roles in academia, industry, government, nonprofits, and the community at large. Scholars learn together, collaborate on impactful projects, and develop lifelong friendships.
Hosted by Knight-Hennessy Scholars at Stanford University: The application for the 2026 cohort opens June 1, 2025. We invite prospective scholars to join an upcoming info session to learn more about the application process and KHS experience.
ONLINE INFORMATION SESSIONS: An admission officer provides an overview of Knight-Hennessy Scholars, the admission process, and the application. The session includes a presentation, and a scholar(s) may join to share their experience. We offer both online and in-person information sessions open to all audiences interested to learn more.
